Jessica Alba (31) an actress, mother and author of her new book suggested in one of her interviews that in order to stay fit it is better to do yoga before, during and after pregnancy. Currently, her daily exercise also includes cardio on the treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike.  As we learned, in addition to her daily yoga practices she works many hours to get her body ready for upcoming film shoots. Here is Jessica’s description of one of her daily fitness sequences that she found easy to follow after giving birth.

Circuit 1 (repeat this circuit several times with a 30-40 second rest between each set)

  • 15      reps Incline chest flys (7kg dumbbells)
  • 15      reps (per leg) Single leg squats (holding 2kg dumbbells)
  • 20      reps Tricep dips from a bench
  • 35      Ab crunches focusing on lower abs /35 Ab crunches focusing on upper abs
  • 30      Oblique crunches

Cardio 2:10 minutes of high intensity cardio on an elliptical machine or treadmill

Jessica does not like to be on any specific diet and prefers to enjoy balanced and nutritional meals. For instance, she believes that eating a whole egg for breakfast brings a lot of nutrients into your body and eating a salad with fish at lunch would not harm your body either. As we know she likes to write and she likes to drink her coffee in the morning. Jessica recently finished writing her first book “The Honest Life”, a how-to handbook based on her mission of creating a natural, healthy and non-toxic life for her family. She will introduce the book to the NYC audience in the upcoming Spring 2013.

Here, we shared our thoughts on how some celebrities are trying to balance their diet, exercise, family life and career. But as we know by heart, everybody is different and there is no such thing as Yoga sequence that fits all or Fitness programs that will suit every personality equally.

As Henry Matisse ( a French-born painter ) said: “When I put a green, it is not grass, when I put a blue, it is not the sky.” And more of him: ” Why have I never been bored? For more than fifty years I have never ceased to work”.

So, happy creating, finding your favorite colors, patterns, and happy working, everybody.
